Our Story

History of the School

GIHEKE Technical Secondary School has long served the community of Giheke Sector in Rusizi District, offering young Rwandans a pathway into employment and further education through technical and vocational training.

Over the years the school grew from a general technical training centre into a full Technical Secondary School offering seven trades - from Software Development and Networking to Electricity, Electronics and Telecommunication, Building Construction and Accounting.

Guided by our motto - "We're our country's solutions providers" - and our slogan "From training to doing", we combine competency-based education with supervised industrial attachments, so that students graduate ready for the workplace. Today the school is working toward becoming a smart digital learning institution.
