On 21 August 2026, GIHEKE Technical Secondary School opened its doors to prospective students and parents during the annual Open Day. Visitors explored the computer laboratories, electricity and electronics workshops, building construction bays, and classrooms equipped for theory and practical lessons.
The school's leadership panel, led by the Principal, presented the seven technical trades on offer — Software Development, Electricity, Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer Systems and Architecture, Building Construction, Networking and Internet Technologies, and Accounting — and explained the competency-based approach to learning.
"We are our country's solutions providers," the Principal reminded the audience during the opening address. "From training to doing — our students leave ready to build, repair, code, and lead."
Parents appreciated the school's vision for digital transformation, including plans for e-learning platforms, student performance tracking, and modern administrative systems.
